helmet safety standards

The British Standard requires the 15J test – which is approximately the speed of a ball delivered by a junior bowler – to return an impact reading of less than 250g. In two 15J tests, the helmet returned readings of 54.2g and 58.9g, making it nearly five times more effective than the standard required.

In two 30J tests – which is approximately the speed of a ball delivered by an adult cricketer – the helmet returned readings of 96.8g and 127.5g, which is in the region of 50 per cent more effective than the standard required. All Masuri helmets are fully compliant with the British Standard BS 7928:2013.

The tests were carried out by Inspec International Limited, a leading independent organization for the testing and certification of personal protective equipment. Visit www.inspec-international.com for more information.
